WordPress Plugin (commentluv) to Attract Visitors to Leave More Comments

As a blogger, there can not be any thing more satisfying than visitors coming to your blog and reading your posts and articles. However, visitors coming and leaving without giving any feedback or comments may not make you that much happy. It is because of the reasons (1) comments make the blog quite lively and engaging (2) comments provides the necessary input for the further improvements for your posts and blog. (3) visitors leaving comments about some specific issues may lead to ideas for your further posts (4) comments encourage more visitors to read completely through the posts and even make then interested in leaving the comments themselves. However, at times even when there are lots of people coming to your blogs and reading quite a lot of stuff therein, you don’t see that much comments coming your way. It may be because of different reasons, however, the main reasons could be either lack of time to leave a comment or visitor fail to see any worth and personal benefit in the commenting exercise.

My personal opinion and experience is if you have lots of good, insightful and quality content on your blog, then sooner or later you will have plenty of comments coming your way. But at the same time, there is no harm if you or blog owner could also give something back to the person taking time out of his busy schedule and reading through your posts and leaving a comment or feedback for you. There could be no better gift for that person other than that he gets visibility for his own work. That obviously happens through the back link which is getting generated when he leaves the comment and fills the details in the comment form – Name, Email, URL. What if he is able to get more than just a single back link for his own blog or site and may even get a glimpse of his blog in the form of displaying the latest post title URL below his comment. There is free wordpress plugin that can do it for you in very easy and simple manner. The plugin is called as commentluv which actually means is to show love for comments.

Commentluv works in a way that when any one leaves a comment and fills all the details in the comment form including URL, this plugin fetched the site’s feed based on the URL provided. It is then able to extract the last blog post title with a link and displays it below the comment. Hence, other people and visitor when they see a post link and find it interesting, they click through and visit his site or blog. So, it gets him double benefit – one is the clickable name which leads to his site or blog and second back link in the form of latest blog post title. commentluv plugin helps make such people interested in leaving a comment who otherwise are not that much active on commenting front. Hence, this plugin is a win-win for both the blogger as well as the visitor to his blog.

You can either download the commentluv plugin from the plugin site or you can download directly from the wordpress commentluv plugin site. You can even search in the plugin search box in wordpress and install directly. After downloading, installing and activating the plugin, you can customize the various options viz text to display, badge to display etc. Update as desired and save the form. Now, you will be able to see the commentluv badge (as per what you chose in the previous step) along with a checkbox  below the comment form. Your visitors can tick the checkbox and their latest blog post URL get displayed.
