Facebook is facing another lawsuit from the family of a deceased Dutch Programmer over the use of “Like” button. The family ‘disliked’ the usage of Like button on Facebook site alleging that it is based on technology that was developed by Jos Van Der Meer, a Dutch based programmer. They claimed that the underlying technology of the Like button is one of the two patents owned by Meer which he has invented long back (in 1998). The Facebook, however, was launched formally in the year 2004 only.
Hence, the family of the deceased Dutch Programmer Meer is planning to sue the Facebook for using the Like button which is patented by Meer.
This is not the first time, that the famous Social Networking site Facebook and its founder Mark Zuckerberg is being sued and dragged to courts. There have been many more lawsuit that Facebook has been facing ever since it was launched in 2004. There was this lawsuit that claimed that the Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea and concept behind the working of Facebook.
