Here is a good news for all the people who had booked Aakash Tablet but have not received it as yet. Aakash’s manufacturing company, DataWind’s CEO Suneet Singh Tuli has promised to clear all the backlog of orders and deliver the tablet within next 10 days. However, if you have booked the one with the SIM will have to wait a little longer. They are expected to receive it within next 4-6 weeks. Below is what CEO Suneet Singh Tuli had to say on this;
“All the paid orders (for tablets with) resistive and capacitative (screens) without SIM will be cleared in next 10 days. But the ones that want tablet with SIM they will be cleared in the next 4 to 6 weeks,”
DataWind to Deliver Aakash or Refund Money
Company has also promised that people who don’t want to wait any longer can also get their money refunded. However, company didn’t disclose the procedure and the time frame within which a customer can get refund. It is best to contact the company directly to find out the same.
Aakash which was launched around an year back as world’s cheapest tablet computer attracted the attention of millions of people from India and abroad. However, owing to getting unexpectedly huge number of advance orders for the tablet, company could not deliver it in time. A large number of people have still been waiting to get the tablet delivered or get their money refunded back.
Company is also giving an option for the people who have booked Aakash tablet to upgrade to its higher version UbiSlate by paying Rs. 500 extra. However, it is not mandatory and people who don’t want to upgrade will still be able to get the same product which they had booked.
